Longfellow's Coffee became intrigued with the coincidences of President Barack Obama's heritage and early life
associated with three of the most-renowned coffee growing regions in
the world. These regions - Kenya, Hawaii, and Indonesia - produce some
of the finest premium specialty coffees served at Longfellow's Coffee
stores in northern NJ and here on line.
Wondering which coffees grown in these regions might combine for a
satisfying coffee sipping experience for you, Longfellow's Coffee worked closely with some of the nation's
leading coffee roasters to see what they might develop. Over time, we selected the best beans from
each region -- Kenya AA (Kenya), Hawaiian Kona Extra Fancy
(Hawaii), and Sulawesi (Indonesia) -- among the most-prized and expensive coffee beans grown anywhere.
Next, the Longfellow's Coffee team experimented through several cuppings to find the just-right proportions for the new blend. A master roaster with generations of experience now brings these exemplary coffee beans to a Vienna roast selected to free up their distinctive characteristics.
The moment of truth arrived when time came to taste the new brew just before Thanksgiving 2008. Everyone who tasted it throughout the process said they experienced something that was very much out of the ordinary.
